DESCRIPTION:The Uniquely Union Festival is proudly in its second decade of serving the community and opening our city to guests from near and far. \n\n\n\n After many years as a BBQ cook-off contest\, the Uniquely Union Festival Board felt it was time to expand its reach.  \n\n\n\nOver the years\, the festival saw many changes. Some of those changes included a venue change\, a rebranding (so that the face of our festival would reflect our intent)\, and another change was to expand and diversify. \n\n\n\nIt is our desire that all members of your family can come and find something that appeals to them.  \n\n\n\nDad can come out and participate in the Taster’s Choice portion of the BBQ Cook-Off while Mom shops at the unique specialty shops that line our historic Main Street or one of the merchandise crafters that are on "Specialty Row".  \n\n\n\nThe kids will have plenty to do in their own areas designated especially for them in the Kidz Zone and Teen Zone. \n\n\n\nAre you a music lover?  \n\n\n\nWhat kind of music do you like? You’re in luck!! The festival board is committed to serving up all genres. You can enjoy the headlining concerts that take place on the Main Stage\, as well as an array of Rock\, R&B\, Country and Blues. \n\n\n\nAre you a history buff or maybe an art connoisseur?  \n\n\n\nWell\, we have just the thing for you. You can take advantage of our award-winning local museum that provides free guided tours or our fantastic local Union County Arts Council which displays and sells unique local artists' wares. \n\n\n\nIt all sounds pretty great\, doesn’t it? Are you wondering how much it will cost you?  \n\n\n\nUniquely Union has set itself apart by making it a priority to keep this festival as free as possible. DESCRIPTION:Hoppin' Along\n\n\n\nThe Prosperity Business Association will host Prosperity's Hoppin' along with a BBQ competition as part of their Sesquicentennial Celebration.   \n\n\n\nCooks will fire up the smokers and bring a festive feel to the downtown area.  Beginning at 6 pm Live Blue Grass Music will be on the Main Stage\, and the square will come alive with Blue\, Brew\, and BBQ.   \n\n\n\nThe Prosperity's Hoppin' with its Arts and Crafts Festival continues on Saturday when judging the BBQ Contest takes place at 10 am on the Main Stage.    \n\n\n\nThey will celebrate not only local arts and crafts and downtown stores\, but there will also be 40+ vendors in our Prosperity Market set up in the square\, which will be closed to traffic.   \n\n\n\nA kid zone will be set up with carnival rides and games for the young and young at heart.   \n\n\n\nHistorical Place\n\n\n\n​Prosperity's Hoppin' Festival is also about the town's history. \n\n\n\nIn 2023\, Prosperity turns 150 years young\, and we have plenty to do and see to celebrate the Sesquicentennial.   \n\n\n\nCome out on Friday\, 6 pm to 10 pm\, and Saturday\, 10 am to 3 pm\, and enjoy the vast market in addition to the wonderful shops and restaurants Prosperity has to offer.   \n\n\n\nOh yeah\, and you can take your picture in front of the depot with the largest sculpture of a frog in the Southeast by local metal artist James Sizemore.   \n\n\n\nWhy? DESCRIPTION:Smoke on the Beach is an annual BBQ competition sponsored by Myrtle Beach Shrine Club. This yearly event is sanctioned by Southern BBQ Network (SBN) and is held during the spring of each year.  \n\n\n\n“We are excited to bring back Smoke on the Beach on Easter weekend\,” said Rusty Watson\, chairman of the event.  \n\n\n\n“The festival will have something for everyone - delicious barbecue and other food vendors\, local brews\, live music\, and bounce houses for the kids. Not to mention\, you will be having fun for a great cause.”  \n\n\n\nFor a Good Cause\n\n\n\nProceeds from the event will benefit the Myrtle Beach Shrine Club. The Myrtle Beach Shrine Club is under the jurisdiction of Omar Shriners who is a member of the South Atlantic Shrine Association (SASA).  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nShriners International is a fraternity based on fun\, fellowship\, and the Masonic principles of brotherly love\, relief\, and truth with nearly 200 temples (chapters) in several countries and thousands of clubs around the world.  \n\n\n\nThe fraternity is open to men of integrity from all walks of life. \n\n\n\nLike always\, the competition is held at the historic Myrtle Beach Pavilion Park. You will find it at 8th Avenue N. and Ocean Blvd.   \n\n\n\nA Family-Friendly Event\n\n\n\nSmoke on the Beach is a family-oriented event that takes place in the heart of Myrtle Beach\, where parking is free and the Boardwalk is at your beck and call.    \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn addition\, families will find the sky wheel and other fun events for the kids just a few steps away. What's not to love? \n\n\n\nA BBQ Competition event with both food trucks and local craft vendors that support the Great Shriner's Philanthropy. \n\n\n\nThe Competition at Smoke on the Beach\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us as the smell of BBQ fills the air! Smoke on the Beach will comply with all COVID-19 regulations.      \n\n\n\nFriday night we'll be hosting the "Anything Butt" competition.  \n\n\n\nDuring this competition\, the event cookers are free to make and enter into the contest anything but BBQ. Often they make chicken wings\, but you never know what to expect.  (Almost) Anything goes! \n\n\n\nSamples from the Anything Butt competition will be available to the public for a minimal price. \n\n\n\nThe competition starts at 4 p.m. Competitors purchase all ingredients for the items prepared themselves.  \n\n\n\nMembers of the public choose the winners. We'll announce those winners during the awards ceremony on Saturday. \n\n\n\nIn addition\, on Friday night\, local craft vendors and food trucks will be on-site along with a live band. And yes\, adult beverages will also be available.     \n\n\n\nOn Saturday at Smoke on the Beach\, SBN will host the BBQ judging.  Also\, we'll have BBQ sandwich sales to the public during and after the judging.  \n\n\n\nJudging will begin promptly at 11 a.m. We'll announce the winners from the Main Stage at approximately 1:30 p.m. The Myrtle Beach Jeep Club will also be showcasing several of their vehicles during the event. \n\n\n\nIn addition\, you'll be able to purchase adult and regular beverages onsite. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe event has a little bit of something for everyone!
