SUMMARY:Low Country Rib Fest (SBN)
DESCRIPTION:Lowcountry Rib Fest brings ribs\, vendors\, family activities\, and Southern BBQ Network-sanctioned competition to a Juneteenth celebration in Moncks Corner \n\n\n\nLowcountry Rib Fest is a family-friendly barbecue event held in Moncks Corner as part of a Juneteenth community celebration. Presented by Men in Black and sanctioned by the Southern BBQ Network\, the event centers on ribs\, food\, vendors\, and community fellowship. \n\n\n\nThe rib fest follows the annual Juneteenth Community Parade hosted by Moncks Corner Lodge #323\, giving families a place to gather after the parade for barbecue and a relaxed afternoon celebration. Event materials describe the day around freedom\, culture\, community\, and great food. \n\n\n\nFor barbecue fans\, the main draw is the rib competition. With Southern BBQ Network sanctioning\, the event brings a more formal barbecue contest feel to the celebration while still keeping the atmosphere approachable for families\, neighbors\, and visitors. \n\n\n\nIn addition to ribs\, the event is expected to include vendors\, food\, music\, and a family-friendly setting. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy the afternoon after the parade. \n\n\n\nEvent information also lists a charitable connection\, with proceeds or support tied to the Sickle Cell Foundation and building schools in Ghana. \n\n\n\nEvent details\n\n\n\nEvent: Lowcountry Rib FestDate: June 19Time: 3:00–6:00 p.m.Location: Community’s Hope Impact CenterAddress: 212 Cooper Street\, Moncks Corner\, SC 29461Presented by: Men in BlackSanctioned by: Southern BBQ NetworkContext: Held immediately following the Juneteenth Community ParadeTickets: Available through Eventbrite \n\n\n\nGood to know\n\n\n\nThe rib fest is scheduled to follow the Juneteenth parade\, which begins earlier in the day and ends near the event site. SUMMARY:Tamassee DAR BBQ Cook-Off (SCBA)
DESCRIPTION:Tamassee DAR School’s Charity BBQ Cook-Off is a family-friendly fundraiser that pairs great barbecue with a laid-back afternoon on the school’s historic campus. \n\n\n\nGuests come for plates of barbecue and “all the trimmings\,” then stick around for music\, kids’ activities\, and a community cruise-in style car gathering. Proceeds support Tamassee DAR School\, a 501(c)(3) organization serving children and families through recovery- and education-focused programs. \n\n\n\n\nWhen and where it’s held\n\n\n\nThe cook-off is typically held on a Saturday\, with public food service running late morning through early afternoon. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat to expect as an attendee\n\n\n\nThis event is designed to be easy for families and groups: \n\n\n\n\nBarbecue plates sold to the public (with sides)\n\n\n\nLive music as a backdrop for the afternoon\n\n\n\nFamily-friendly extras that often include inflatables or a bounce house\, face painting\, and a playground area\n\n\n\nA car cruise-in component\n\n\n\nDoor prizes and other small on-site surprises\n\n\n\nKid-focused activities such as guided horseback rides are sometimes part of the day’s lineup\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe barbecue and how it’s served\n\n\n\nBarbecue sales to the general public typically begin at 11 a.m.\, and guests can plan to eat on-site and enjoy the campus atmosphere\, or grab plates to go. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe cook-off and competition side\n\n\n\nAlongside public tasting and plate sales\, the event includes a judged cook-off component that draws competitive teams. In recent years it has been promoted as a South Carolina Barbeque Association (SCBA) event\, with turn-ins and awards timed around the public portion of the day. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhy it matters\n\n\n\nThe cook-off supports Tamassee DAR School’s mission-driven work with children and families\, with proceeds benefiting the organization’s programs. \n\n\n\nSponsorship and community support\n\n\n\nLocal businesses and community partners can support the event through sponsorships. Sponsorship information is handled through Tamassee DAR School’s development contacts.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Organizer\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Location\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBest Places to Stay Nearby\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWeather Forecast\n\n\n\nTAMASSEE WEATHER

SUMMARY:SC Festival of Discovery (KCBS)
DESCRIPTION:Annual Tradition\n\n\n\n"Each year\, the SC Festival of Discovery brings a taste of Southern hospitality to Greenwood\, South Carolina. It's a celebration of our community and the unique culture and heritage that make our city special\," said Kelly McWhorter\, executive director for Discover Greenwood. \n\n\n\nThe SC Festival of Discovery\, an annual tradition in Greenwood\, has been drawing visitors from around the region for over 20 years. \n\n\n\nThe festival got its start in 2000 as a way to showcase the city's barbecue heritage\, and it has since grown to become a major event in the state. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGood Food\n\n\n\n"If you love good barbecue and good music\, you don't want to miss the South Carolina Festival of Discovery! This is an annual event that we always look forward to attending. It's well-organized and always a lot of fun\," wrote one reviewer on Tripadvisor. \n\n\n\nOver 90 teams will be competing in the state BBQ championship through the Kansas City Barbeque Society\, and festival-goers can sample all types of barbecue and vote for their favorite in the People's Choice competition. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGood Music\n\n\n\nThe festival will also feature live music and a variety of food and craft vendors\, and the streets of Uptown Greenwood will be closed to traffic to make the festival walkable and safe for pedestrians. \n\n\n\nAccording to McWhorter\, the festival is not only a fun-filled event but also a major economic driver for Greenwood. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nValuable Impact\n\n\n\nShe estimates that it brings an economic impact of over $2.6 million through visitors\, vendors\, hotels\, and restaurants. \n\n\n\n"We want people to see how wonderful Greenwood is during this time of year\," said McWhorter. "There is no parking fee\, there's no gate fee for this event\, and we really do it as a tribute to our community." \n\n\n\n\n\nFor a safe\, family-friendly atmosphere\, attendees can expect a visible law enforcement presence during festival hours. Festival entry rules may restrict certain items\, especially in areas where alcohol is served. \n\n\n\nThe SC Festival of Discovery is a testament to the city's barbecue heritage and Southern hospitality\, and it's an event that continues to attract visitors year after year. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Organizer\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Location\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLodging\, Dining\, and More\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWeather Forecast\n\n\n\nGREENWOOD WEATHER

SUMMARY:Big Peach Barbeque Battle (SCBA)
DESCRIPTION:The Big Peach BBQ Battle brings barbecue teams\, judged pork\, and a community fundraiser to Gaffney for a summer weekend built around smoke\, competition\, and support for Thought Jot \n\n\n\nThe Big Peach BBQ Battle is a barbecue competition and community fundraiser held at the Cherokee County Administration Building in Gaffney. The event brings professional and backyard barbecue teams to Railroad Avenue for a weekend centered on smoked pork\, friendly competition\, and support for Thought Jot. \n\n\n\nCook teams compete in professional and backyard divisions\, giving both experienced pitmasters and serious home cooks a place at the event. Judging follows South Carolina Barbeque Association rules\, with pork Boston butt serving as the main category and ribs listed as an optional category for teams. \n\n\n\nFor visitors\, the appeal is simple: barbecue smoke\, teams working their pits\, and a chance to spend time around South Carolina barbecue while supporting a local nonprofit. Event materials indicate that public serving and sampling are part of the setup\, though attendees should check the organizer’s latest updates before heading out. \n\n\n\nThe Big Peach BBQ Battle also carries a purpose beyond the trophies. The event is organized as a fundraiser for Thought Jot\, which works with adults and young people impacted by incarceration through cognitive self-change and creative writing programs. The goal is to help participants build skills and income opportunities for life after incarceration. \n\n\n\nThe event is scheduled during a busy summer stretch in Gaffney\, a city long associated with South Carolina peaches. While it falls near South Carolina Peach Festival activities\, the Big Peach BBQ Battle should be treated as its own Thought Jot fundraiser unless organizers state otherwise. \n\n\n\nEvent details\n\n\n\nEvent: Big Peach BBQ BattleDate: July 10–11Location: Cherokee County Administration BuildingAddress: 110 Railroad Ave\, Gaffney\, SC 29340Admission: FreeOrganizer: Thought JotCompetition: Professional and backyard barbecue divisionsJudging: South Carolina Barbeque Association rules \n\n\n\nGood to know\n\n\n\nBecause this is a barbecue competition\, public food availability may depend on the event schedule and participating teams. SUMMARY:SCBA Judges Seminar Summer Session
DESCRIPTION:Here Comes the Judge\n\n\n\nWant to become an SCBA-certified BBQ judge? \n\n\n\nCome to the summer session of the SCBA Judging Seminar to take your first step in being a judge in SC BBQ competitions. \n\n\n\nYou can become a Certified Barbeque Judge by first becoming a member of the South Carolina Barbeque Association. Completing this seminar allows you to attend four SCBA-sanctioned barbeque events to learn the trade. \n\n\n\nDuring these four events\, you will sit at a novice table and apprentice under an experienced judge.   \n\n\n\nSeriously Dedicated\n\n\n\nThe SCBA stands alone in how seriously they take educating their judges. \n\n\n\nFrom what I’ve seen\, few organizations put as much structured training in front of first-time judging. Judging anything is a skill to be learned\, and the SCBA assures the cooks who cook in these competitions that their BBQ boxes will only be evaluated by a group of well-trained judges. \n\n\n\nCompare that system to the famous Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) which proclaims on its website: \n\n\n\n“To become a CBJ [Certified BBQ Judge]\, just attend one of the hundreds of classes conducted by KCBS every year throughout the country. In a half day’s time\, you’ll learn how to grade world-class chicken\, pulled pork\, ribs\, and brisket – and taste them during the process! By the time you’re finished\, you’ll be ready to sign up for the next competition in your area!” \n\n\n\nReally? So in just a half day\, I’m going to be an expert in judging 4 entirely different dishes? \n\n\n\nAfter Training\n\n\n\nOnce you complete training to become an SCBA judge and receive your judging apron\, you can participate in events held each year throughout the state.  \n\n\n\nYou also have the opportunity to rise through the ranks of the SCBA. By completing the necessary requirements\, you can become a Senior Judge\, Master Judge\, Calculator\, Table Captain\, Novice Instructor\, or Event Marshal. \n\n\n\nBut it all begins with the SCBA Judging Seminar. \n\n\n\nIf judging SC barbecue competitions is on your list\, this seminar is the place to start. \n\n\n\nGo to the "Join Us" page and become a member of the SCBA.  You can then join hundreds of your fellow South Carolinians in enjoying the cuisine that South Carolinians do best: South Carolina Barbecue. \n\n\n\nSummer Seminar Details\n\n\n\n10:00 am – 3:00 pmSt. Paul’s Lutheran Church1715 Bull Street Columbia\, SC 29201 \n\n\n\nRegistration is $25 per person and includes a BBQ lunch. SCBA membership is required to attend the SCBA Judging Seminar. \n\n\n\nFor more information about the SCBA or to become a member\, go to www.scbarbeque.com and click on the Join Us link. \n\n\n\nIndividual memberships are $55 and Family and Cook Team Memberships are $70. \n\n\n\nContact: membership@scbarbeque.com \n\n\n\nSeminar Info\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBest Places to Stay Nearby\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWeather Forecast\n\n\n\nCOLUMBIA WEATHER

SUMMARY:Pork & Piggin' BBQ Cook-Off (SCBA)
DESCRIPTION:Pork & Piggin’ is a public barbecue cook-off at H. Cooper Black Jr. Recreation Area in Cheraw\, South Carolina\, featuring South Carolina Barbecue Association (SCBA) teams competing in a pork butt only contest. For spectators\, the appeal is getting up close to the process: teams setting up\, trimming and seasoning meat\, managing cookers\, and staying busy as turn-in time gets closer. \n\n\n\nWhile SCBA judging happens behind the scenes\, the action on the grounds is easy to follow. Attendees can walk the cook sites\, watch teams work\, and then stick around for the awards\, when prize money and trophies are presented. \n\n\n\n\nSince this is an outdoor recreation-area setting\, it helps to keep an eye on the weather but plan for a casual day outside. Comfortable walking shoes are a good idea\, and bringing a chair can make it easier to settle in while waiting for awards. \n\n\n\n\nPork & Piggin’ includes both professional and backyard divisions\, and the field is capped\, which keeps the event manageable for teams and enjoyable for spectators. \n\n\n\nFor cook teams: team spaces include an approximately 30 x 30 area with electricity included\, with additional power available for a fee. Team entry options include professional and backyard\, with an optional ribs add-on. \n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Organizer\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Location\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBest Places to Stay Nearby\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWeather Forecast\n\n\n\nCHERAW WEATHER

SUMMARY:Gaston Collard and Barbeque Festival
DESCRIPTION:How do you like your greens? With a side of barbecue? \n\n\n\nIf you like collards and barbecue\, then this is the festival for you. Celebrate the fall harvest at the annual Gaston Collard & BBQ Festival with a parade\, free rides\, games\, antique cars\, live entertainment\, and a barbecue cook-off. \n\n\n\nThere’s even a beauty pageant the spring before the festival. \n\n\n\nIt started out as just collards\," said Gaston Mayor Troy Bivens. "The people who did it years ago would come together to cook collards and then they'd do the plates and sell them for a fundraiser. When I took over\, we kept that going and I added the barbecue to it. We started doing a barbecue competition." \n\n\n\nOf course\, barbecue and fixin’s like cornbread\, black-eyed peas\, collard greens\, mac n cheese\, and pound cake will be available. \n\n\n\n(If you're looking for great collard green recipes to make at home check out Rodney Scott's collard greens recipe and Melvin's Legendary collard greens recipe.) \n\n\n\nOn Saturday\, the parade starts the day off right.  After the parade\, the festival begins at 131 North Carlisle Street behind the Gaston Town Hall.  \n\n\n\nThere is live music with bands performing throughout the day and free rides for everyone. Crafters\, vendors\, and exhibitors will also be there showcasing their wares. \n\n\n\nThe kitchen opens at 11:30 and will be selling Collard and Barbeque Plates that include all your favorite Southern specialties – collards\, barbeque\, black-eyed peas\, macaroni and cheese\, cornbread\, pound cake\, and tea or lemonade. \n\n\n\nGaston offers a clean family-friendly festival. No alcohol is allowed on the premises. \n\n\n\nCome join the fun and eat lots of good food at the Gaston Collard and Barbeque Festival held each and every October! \n\n\n\n"It's just about getting together\, everybody getting out and having a good time\," Bivens said. \n\n\n\nFor more information or to get an application to enter the cooking contest\, visit the Town of Gaston website here. \n\n\n\nI Love a Parade\n\n\n\nTake a look at this video from the 2015 Gaston Collard and Barbeque Festival parade. \n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nInfo to Know \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBest Places to Stay (and more)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWeather Forecast\n\n\n\nGASTON SC

SUMMARY:Jackson Hook and Cook Festival (SCBA)
DESCRIPTION:A Festival Steeped in Tradition\n\n\n\nThe quaint town of Jackson\, known for its tight-knit community and rich traditions\, is once again preparing to host its renowned Hook & Cook Festival. \n\n\n\nAs the aroma of barbecued meats wafts through the air and the sound of laughter fills the streets\, it's evident that this isn't just any festival; it's a testament to the town's unity and the spirit of celebration. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA Look Back at Past Events\n\n\n\nDrawing inspiration from past events\, this year's festival promises to be an even grander affair. In its eighth edition\, the festival saw a footfall of 1\,500 to 2\,000 attendees\, a number that has only grown over the years. \n\n\n\n\nThe 14th edition\, despite challenges like waterlogged roads that led to the cancellation of the fishing tournament\, still managed to draw between 1\,000 to 3\,000 attendees. Such resilience and dedication are what make the Hook & Cook Festival a standout event in Jackson's calendar. \n\n\n\n\nTwo Days of Fun Activities\n\n\n\nSet against the backdrop of the Jackson Pavilion on Main Street\, the festival is a two-day extravaganza. While Friday evenings are reserved for arts\, crafts\, and food vendors\, the highlight is undoubtedly the dessert competition\, where participants vie for the coveted $100 first prize. And as the sun sets\, live music takes center stage\, ensuring that the night is filled with music\, dance\, and merriment. \n\n\n\nSaturday is a day of diverse activities. From car and boat shows to antique displays\, there's something for everyone. \n\n\n\n\nThe Heart of the Festival: Barbecue and Fishing\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe fishing tournament\, a staple of the festival\, sees enthusiastic participants launching their boats from the Jackson boat landing. With categories ranging from panfish and bass to striper/hybrid and catfish\, the competition is fierce\, culminating in a weigh-in at the Municipal Complex. \n\n\n\n\nBut what's a Hook & Cook Festival without some mouth-watering barbecue? \n\n\n\nThe South Carolina BBQ Association sanctioned Cook-off is where the magic happens. With cash prizes up for grabs in categories like ribs and butt\, the competition is intense. And for attendees\, it's a gastronomic delight\, with barbecue dinners available for purchase. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGiving Back to the Community\n\n\n\nThe festival also gives back to the community. Past editions have seen donations to institutions like Redcliffe Elementary\, the culinary department at Silver Bluff\, and the NJROTC\, to name a few. \n\n\n\nAs the festival draws to a close\, one can't help but marvel at the sense of community it fosters. As Phyllis Boyd aptly puts it\, "It’s amazing how the small community has grown from this. We have people from all over here\, and it’s just turned into something that people really enjoy; it’s a unified event." \n\n\n\n\nSo\, if you're looking for a weekend of fun\, food\, and festivities\, the Jackson Hook & Cook Festival is the place to be. It's not just an event; it's an experience\, a celebration of community and tradition. And as the sun sets on Jackson\, the memories of the festival linger\, a reminder of the town's indomitable spirit and the promise of many more celebrations to come. \n\n\n\n\nEvent Organizer\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Location\n\n\n\n\n\nBest Places to Stay (and more)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWeather Forecast\n\n\n\nJACKSON SC

SUMMARY:The Barbecue Festival in Lexington\, NC
DESCRIPTION:The Lexington Barbecue Festival: Savoring Tradition in Every Bite \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLEXINGTON\, NC - As autumn leaves begin their colorful descent in North Carolina\, the city of Lexington is abuzz with anticipation. \n\n\n\nThe iconic Barbecue Festival\, a culinary and cultural extravaganza\, is set to return\, promising a day filled with smoky aromas\, soulful melodies\, and a community spirit that's as warm as the grills that will soon be fired up. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe Lexington Barbecue Festival: A Journey Through Time\n\n\n\nIn the heart of North Carolina\, the city of Lexington boasts a culinary tradition that has become synonymous with its identity: barbecue. \n\n\n\nThis love affair with smoked pork began in earnest in 1919\, with Sid Weaver setting up a modest tent in the town center. As the years rolled on\, the city's reputation grew\, and so did its number of barbecue joints\, each adding their unique twist to the Lexington style. \n\n\n\n\n\nIt was in this backdrop of burgeoning barbecue fame that the idea for a festival was conceived. In 1984\, a conversation between Joe Sink\, Jr.\, publisher of THE DISPATCH\, and officials from BB&T\, led to the birth of the Lexington Barbecue Festival. \n\n\n\nSpearheaded by Kay Saintsing and produced by Saintsing Management Services\, the inaugural event took place on October 27\, 1984. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat began as a local celebration soon transformed into a grand annual affair\, drawing enthusiasts from far and wide. Over the decades\, the festival has not only celebrated Lexington's unique barbecue style but has also supported numerous civic and non-profit organizations. \n\n\n\nWith the city and Davidson County declaring October as "Barbecue Month\," the festival has become more than just a day's event; it's a month-long celebration of Lexington's rich barbecue legacy. \n\n\n\n\nA Legacy Rekindled:\n\n\n\nIn its 39th iteration\, the festival stands as a testament to Lexington's rich barbecue heritage. Born from a humble discussion in 1984\, this annual event has evolved into a grand celebration\, drawing enthusiasts from across the nation. \n\n\n\nAnd while the festival has seen exponential growth\, its heart remains rooted in tradition. Lexington\, after all\, isn't just a city; it's the Barbecue Capital of the World. \n\n\n\n\nThe Day's Delights:\n\n\n\nOn October 28\, Uptown Lexington will transform into a barbecue haven. \n\n\n\n\nHere's what attendees can expect: \n\n\n\n\nMorning to Night: The festivities kick off at 8:30 am with exhibits\, followed by a grand opening ceremony at 9:00 am. As the day unfolds\, barbecue tents will serve their delicacies from 10:00 am\, culminating in a grand finale concert from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Breeden Insurance Amphitheater.\n\n\n\nSingular in Flavor: While the world of barbecue boasts a myriad of styles\, this festival is a tribute to one alone: the Lexington Style. It's a celebration of hickory-smoked pork shoulders\, basted in a special "dip"\, creating a flavor that's both unique and universally loved.\n\n\n\nEntertainment Galore: With six stages set up\, attendees will be treated to a diverse range of musical acts. While this year's lineup remains under wraps\, if previous years are any indication\, festival-goers are in for a treat.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNavigating the Festival:\n\n\n\nFor those driving in\, ample parking is available in private lots around the festival's perimeter. Community groups\, in a bid to support local causes\, will manage many of these lots. \n\n\n\nA special note for attendees: side streets and alleys are off-limits for parking\, and illegally parked vehicles face towing. \n\n\n\nFor those looking to avoid the hassle of parking\, a shuttle service from Childress Vineyards offers a convenient alternative. This turn-of-the-century trolley isn't just practical; it's a nostalgic journey\, setting the tone for the festival ahead. \n\n\n\n\n\nSafety First:\n\n\n\nIn ensuring that the festival remains a joyous occasion for all\, certain rules are in place. Pets\, coolers\, and personal amplification devices are best left at home. And in a nod to modern security concerns\, all bags and attendees are subject to checks. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe Place to Be:\n\n\n\nThe Lexington Barbecue Festival isn't just an event; it's an experience. It's a day where tradition takes center stage\, where every bite tells a story\, and where a community comes together in celebration of its rich heritage. \n\n\n\nAs the smoke rises and melodies fill the air\, one thing is certain: on October 28\, Lexington is the place to be. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Location\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBest Places to Stay Nearby\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWeather Forecast\n\n\n\nLEXINGTON WEATHER

Riverfront Park will once again be the stage for this smoke-filled jubilee\, where over 50 pitmasters and chefs from across the nation will unite to honor the rich tapestry of American barbecue. \n\n\n\nParker Milner of The Post and Courier paints a vivid scene of past festivals\, where the air is thick with the aroma of smoked meats and the sound of crackling fires. \n\n\n\nThis year\, the festival is set to surpass its previous iterations\, presenting a veritable feast with an all-you-can-eat format across four distinct barbecue villages: Texas\, Traditional\, New School\, and Coastal. Each village\, a testament to the diverse culinary techniques that define American barbecue\, invites guests to a journey through flavors and traditions. \n\n\n\nMore Than Just a Festival\n\n\n\nThe festival is steeped in more than just culinary excellence; it is a celebration of community and charity. Aaron Siegel\, chef and co-owner of Home Team BBQ\, recalls the inspirational underpinnings of the festival\, "It would feature good music and food\, but the main mission would be to raise money for charity\," a testament to the event's ethos (Milner). \n\n\n\nAs reported by Milner\, Siegel's vision was galvanized by his experience at Hogs for the Cause\, a renowned barbecue competition and fundraiser that significantly benefits families dealing with pediatric brain cancer. \n\n\n\nIt is this spirit of giving that resonates through the Holy Smokes BBQ Festival\, which in its short history has already donated over $200\,000 to its beneficiaries\, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston and Hogs for the Cause. \n\n\n\nMelodies and Meat: A Harmonious Blend\n\n\n\nThe upcoming festival not only promises an array of delectable barbecue but also an auditory feast with performances by Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country and Lilly Hiatt. The backdrop of the Cooper River sets a picturesque stage for the festival\, further enriching the sensory experience. \n\n\n\nReflecting on the festival's charitable impact\, Anthony DiBernardo of Swig & Swine BBQ and a regular at the festival\, shared\, "I’ve always known that the gift of food could be used to help people\," showcasing the philanthropic heart that beats at the core of the barbecue community (Milner). \n\n\n\nFestival Lineup\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAccess and Experience Packages\n\n\n\nTickets\, ranging from $95 to $250\, offer a variety of experiences from general admission to the all-inclusive VIP area\, featuring additional exclusive food and drinks. \n\n\n\nThe pricing strategy ensures that the festival remains accessible while still upholding the quality and variety that have become its hallmarks. \n\n\n\nIn preparation for this grand event\, there is traditionally a special meal shared by the pitmasters and chefs. This pre-festival gathering is not only a testament to the camaraderie within the barbecue community but also highlights the festival's engagement with local culinary talents. \n\n\n\nBarbecue with a Purpose\n\n\n\nMilner aptly describes the festival's dual purpose: a gathering of like-minded individuals committed to preserving the craft of barbecue and a collective effort to give back to the community. \n\n\n\nAs the Holy Smokes BBQ Festival gears up for its third year\, it stands as a beacon of the power of food to unite\, delight\, and contribute to the greater good. \n\n\n\nDetails\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation and Map\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBest Places to Stay Nearby\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWeather Forecast\n\n\n\nNORTH CHARLESTON WEATHER
