DESCRIPTION:The Uniquely Union Festival is proudly in its second decade of serving the community and opening our city to guests from near and far. \n\n\n\n After many years as a BBQ cook-off contest\, the Uniquely Union Festival Board felt it was time to expand its reach.  \n\n\n\nOver the years\, the festival saw many changes. Some of those changes included a venue change\, a rebranding (so that the face of our festival would reflect our intent)\, and another change was to expand and diversify. \n\n\n\nIt is our desire that all members of your family can come and find something that appeals to them.  \n\n\n\nDad can come out and participate in the Taster’s Choice portion of the BBQ Cook-Off while Mom shops at the unique specialty shops that line our historic Main Street or one of the merchandise crafters that are on “Specialty Row”.  \n\n\n\nThe kids will have plenty to do in their own areas designated especially for them in the Kidz Zone and Teen Zone. \n\n\n\nAre you a music lover?  \n\n\n\nWhat kind of music do you like? You’re in luck!! The festival board is committed to serving up all genres. You can enjoy the headlining concerts that take place on the Main Stage\, as well as an array of Rock\, R&B\, Country and Blues. \n\n\n\nAre you a history buff or maybe an art connoisseur?  \n\n\n\nWell\, we have just the thing for you. You can take advantage of our award-winning local museum that provides free guided tours or our fantastic local Union County Arts Council which displays and sells unique local artists’ wares. \n\n\n\nIt all sounds pretty great\, doesn’t it? Are you wondering how much it will cost you?  \n\n\n\nUniquely Union has set itself apart by making it a priority to keep this festival as free as possible. We pair this delicious BBQ with music and family – making this the perfect festival to enjoy all that Mauldin has to offer. \n\n\n\nEvents Friday and Saturday\n\n\n\nThe festival opens Friday night with our Anything Butt competition\, where participating cookers serve anything BUTT their BBQ to pique your tastebuds.  \n\n\n\nSliders\, grilled chicken\, smoked cobbler—the only way to know what’s cooking is to come try it for yourself. \n\n\n\nSaturday features the main event\, a BBQ Cook-off competition with a panel of certified BBQ Tasters from the South Carolina Barbeque Association. DESCRIPTION:Smokin’ at the Field\n\n\n\nIn conjunction with the South Carolina BBQ Association and the City of Greenville\, we are smokin’ District 356 at Fluor Field at the West End in Greenville. \n\n\n\nThe festival includes an “Anything Butt BBQ” competition\, a barbecue and rib cooking contest\, and great family entertainment including live music\, food vendors\, beverages\, and games for kids. Admission is always free and tasting tickets are sold at the festival. All proceeds benefit Project Host. \n\n\n\nWorthy Cause\n\n\n\nProject Host is a Greenville-area nonprofit that has been building community through food since 1981. Our mission is to use food as a tool to nourish the hungry and train the unemployed. \n\n\n\nProject Host works to fight food insecurity in the greater Greenville area by feeding the hungry through their Soup Kitchen and Cooking for Kids program\, training and educating the un- and underemployed in our CC Pearce Culinary School\, and paying it forward through our social enterprises—the HostMobile food truck and the Bakery. \n\n\n\nOur annual BBQ Cook-off and Festival is an opportunity to invite greater Greenville to celebrate the gift of food with us while raising funds to support our programming. \n\n\n\nCost to Attend\n\n\n\nAttending the Project Host BBQ Festival and Cook-off is totally free of charge. Come enjoy music\, select children’s entertainment items and the ambiance of a festival downtown. \n\n\n\nIf you want to sample the BBQ\, tickets (10 for $10) are sold at the gate only—no advance sales.
