What Folks Are Saying
Google Review
Among the many Google Reviews, Local Guide Jessica Collins shares that she finally gave in:
Well after 2 years of nagging, my husband finally talked me into eating here, and it was worth it! I am a creature by habit, and I usually pretty much stick with a place that I like, and when it comes to BBQ my go to has always been Roger’s!
I rate my BBQ restaurants by their liver hash which is a favorite of mine, and if their liver hash isn’t great, I don’t care how amazing everything else is, I’m not eating there, and this place had pretty good liver hash. Their fried shrimp was some of the best I’ve eaten, and fried okra, fried squash, and scallops were exceptionally good as well! There was a great dessert selection and decent salad station too.
The only complaint I had was how crowded it was but you have to expect it with food this great! I will DEFINITELY be going back!! Well, if I’m ever hungry again after tonight! 🤣
Yelp Review
Over on Yelp, Florence-area local Pam O. encourages you to give them a taste:
This is the best BBQ in our area. We most often get it to go, at least once a week. They are very generous with their helpings. And it’s all soooo good!
I’m a true southern girl and I know good BBQ. WoodstoneBBQ and Seafood knows how to cook it. Never greasy. I’ve changed restaurants because of that. If y’all have had the same problem at another place in town…then you will be glad to find WoodstoneBBQ.
So if y’all haven’t gone by there and tried it, what are y’all waiting for? Give them a try this weekend! You will have a great new BBQ restaurant from then on.
SCBA Review
Yeah, ok…sure. You can pull positive reviews from a website, but what do they know about BBQ? What about the folks who train the judges for BBQ competitions in South Carolina? What do they think?
The SC BBQ Association deems Woodstone’s to be Top 100 BBQ!
Here’s an excerpt from their review:
Woodstone is quite a treat. They serve up two kinds of barbeque which they serve off of a well-stocked buffet. And when I say well-stocked I mean it. It’s such a pleasure to eat in the Florence area and the Pee Dee in general because the buffets generally carry such additional goodies as chicken bog and catfish stew and chicken and dumplings as well as the ubiquitous fried chicken and home-cooked vegetables.
As I say, Woodstone serves up two kinds of barbeque with my favorite being the vinegar and pepper style that is indigenous to the area. You are going to have to give this barbeque restaurant a try.
