Benefiting the Community
BBQ, Blues, & Boos Festival is a fundraising event built to provide a unique experience for the Barnwell community, promote the vibrant culture of the region, and support the non-profit economic development work of the Southern Palmetto Regional Chamber & The Palmetto Innovation Center.
Profits from this event go directly to supporting free and low-cost programs built to support emerging entrepreneurs and small businesses in and around Barnwell and Allendale Counties.
The BBQ, Blues, & Boos Festival began as the Palmetto Pig Pickin’ in 2019 and then was promptly canceled for two years straight due to safety concerns related to COVID-19.
It came back in 2022 with a new name, and a larger mission to create a fun community event supporting the expanded non-profit work of the Southern Palmetto Regional Chamber which, since the event’s inception, has grown to include the important work of the Palmetto Innovation Center fostering a more vibrant economy in the region.
Family Friendly
All kids 12 and under that attend in costume will get in free to the event!
We are actively pulling together all of the family activities we will have for this year’s event, so check back here soon. We look forward to having several kid-friendly activities, including a bounce house, airbrushed temporary Tattoos, and Cornhole Tournament.
Note that registration for the Tournament will open by the end of August! Two-person teams will battle for the chance to be crowned champ and get $500 cash!

- Single Day Admission: $25 includes one day of music and food from 15 cook-off competitors ($30 day of)
- Weekend Pass: $40 includes admission for both days with food both days from 15 cook-off competitors ($50 day of)
- VIP Pass: $100 includes admission for both days, food from 15 cook-off competitors, open beer bar, VIP lounge & private restroom (online pre-event only)
Kids in Costume under 12 get in FREE!

BBQ Cookoff Sampling
Friday
4:30 pm – Gates Open to the Public
5:00 pm – Anything Butt sampling opens for Public
Cooks will serve a variety of dishes including sides, appetizers, and desserts all which don’t include pulled pork.
9:00 pm – Anything Butt ends Public Sampling, gates close
Saturday
10:00 am – Gates Open to the Public
11:00 am – Public Sampling Begins for BBQ Cookoff
Cooks will serve exclusively their take on Pulled Pork BBQ.
3:30 pm – Award Ceremony & Public Sampling ends
4:00 pm – Cook-Off over and public disperses
