Where Is It?
The festival will be held at Trophy Brewing’s event space, Maywood Hall & Garden, which will also be providing beer and cocktails from Young Hearts Distilling.
The ambiance of the event will be complemented by the beautiful scenery of Maywood Hall & Garden, making it the perfect event to enjoy with family and friends.
However, what truly sets Gettin’ Piggy With It apart from other food festivals is that it is a fundraiser for Raleigh’s Frankie Lemmon School and Developmental Center.
The school is connected to the Triangle’s culinary scene through high-profile fundraising efforts like the Triangle Wine Experience.
What’s It For?
The goal of the event is to raise $100,000 for the Frankie Lemmon School, and all proceeds from the event will go directly to the organization.
For those who don’t know, the Frankie Lemmon School and Developmental Center is a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive educational and therapeutic services to young children with special needs.
The school serves children with a wide range of developmental disabilities, including autism, Down Syndrome, and cerebral palsy.
The organization has been a mainstay in the Raleigh community for over 50 years, and the funds raised from Gettin’ Piggy With It will be used to support their educational programs and services.
It’s not often that one gets the opportunity to indulge in some of the best barbecue in the Southeast, all while supporting a worthy cause.
Gettin’ Piggy With It is an event that provides just that. It brings together some of the most acclaimed pitmasters in the Southeast for a one-day feast, all to raise funds for the Frankie Lemmon School and Developmental Center.
Beyond the amazing food and great cause, Gettin’ Piggy With It is also an opportunity to meet some of the top new school barbecue chefs in the Carolinas.
Many of these pitmasters have become culinary celebrities in their own right, and getting a chance to taste their barbecue in one place is an opportunity that is not to be missed.
