This BBQ competition brings grill masters to the heart of Manning, SC, all to benefit a great cause: A Second Chance Animal Shelter.
Hosted in the City of Manning Municipal Parking Lot on Church Street, this fundraiser is more than just a BBQ festival—it’s a community-driven effort to support A Second Chance Animal Shelter. The shelter provides vital care for lost and abandoned animals in Clarendon County, preparing them for adoption and offering spay and neuter programs to reduce the stray population, including a Trap, Neuter, Release (TNR) program for local feral cats.

Kick off your weekend on Friday night with the creative “Anything Butt” competition, where local grillers showcase their skills by cooking up a variety of dishes—anything but pork! This part of the event offers you a chance to try a wide range of grilled delights, from wings to casseroles, desserts, and more. Guests can purchase tickets for just $1 each and sample their way through the delicious creations. This friendly contest will be judged by a panel of local celebrity judges, and all proceeds go toward supporting the shelter’s mission.
On Saturday, the real BBQ showdown begins with the Pork Butt Competition, where talented pitmasters from across South Carolina will be vying for the top prize, with their BBQ judged by the South Carolina Barbeque Association. As an attendee, you’ll have the opportunity to taste their competition-level BBQ with sampling tickets, sold at $1 each.
In addition to sample-sized servings, BBQ sandwiches and larger 1-pound containers will also be available for purchase, making sure you can enjoy plenty of smoky, flavorful goodness throughout the day.
