Located on the Village Plaza, Billy G’s Smokehouse is a no-nonsense, laid-back sort of place.
We are big on fun, family, and friendship. Grab a friendly drink or two with the locals and savor soulful Southern barbeque.
This is a place where the rules don’t matter, and where you’ll feel right at home in shorts and flip-flops or in a suit and tie.
At Billy G’s Smokehouse, you can always count on a friendly island welcome. You’ll also get a healthy serving of island lore.
For example, Isle of Palm locals all know the legend of Goat Island. This small strip of land a few hundred yards off the coast was home to the mysterious Goat Man, his wife, and a herd of wild goats.
In 1931, this maverick couple gave up modern life and lived off the land. They tended their goats and got by on whatever nature and the tides provided.

Meat is ordered by weight and served on butcher-papered steel trays. The menu is simple and all about the meat.
Enjoy a variety of house-seasoned smoked meats like pork and beef brisket cooked the old-fashioned way, with lots of smoked hardwood flavor and patience.
In addition, we offer tasty chicken and smoked sausage. Pair your choice of meat with our take on classic SC BBQ recipes for sides and sauces.
Count on all your favorite sides to go along, and we offer a great little salad bar for anyone who’s feeling guilty!

We assembled a tasty collection of Bourbons and small-batch whiskeys. If you’re looking for something a little more creative, then try one of our out-of-the-box cocktail creations.
We do serve all the tried-and-true favorites, but you’ll also find some interesting departures inspired by the flavors of the Lowcountry using the season’s freshest seasonal ingredients.
Finally, there are big communal tables for feeding the whole clan or making new friends. The place is big, festive, and family-friendly with plenty of room for the kids to run around, so come on over and settle in for the evening.
Important Notes about Billy G’s Smokehouse
NOTE 1: Billy G’s is located within the Wild Dunes Resort, but it is open to the general public. You will have to enter through the entrance gate. Per someone I spoke with at the resort: just let the guard know you are dining at the restaurant, and he should let you through.
NOTE 2: Billy G’s “is seasonal and is only open during the peak summer months,” per that same representative.
Note 3: Per their website, reservations are highly recommended.
