We smoke our meats daily to serve you the freshest BBQ in the Low Country. All of our meats are smoked daily on our wood chip smoker. We offer pulled chicken, pulled pork, sliced brisket, sliced turkey and smoked sausage
Our house rub blends add just the right flavor to be enjoyed dry, but we also have four house sauces for those who enjoy the extra flavor. We serve Sweet Bourbon, Carolina Mustard, Hot Pepper Vinegar, Honey Chipotle and Alabama White sauces.

Southern Roots has a great inside and outside seating area complete with a full bar and an excellent draft menu. The menu has something for everyone, including children, and has way more than just barbecue if you’re not in the mood.
Our server/bartender, Patrick, was awesome by the way and we had a great experience because of him. Try the brisket plate if you get a chance, the portion size was perfect and that’s in addition to two sides. You’re sure to leave full or with a takeout box if you come here.

I’ve been here several times now and haven’t had a bad experience. I’ve taken coworkers here for lunch when visiting Charleston and everyone always enjoys their meal.
Most recently my husband and I came here on a very busy Friday night (almost nowhere to sit busy) and the food was hot and delicious, service was great, nothing was slow.
Their sauces are awesome and I love the slider appetizer and their new waffle fries! My husband ordered some sort of Philly sandwich and even that was delicious. We’ll be back for sure.
