Supporting Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park
Established in 1862, Mitchelville is widely recognized as the first self-governed town of formerly enslaved people in the United States. Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park preserves the site and helps visitors understand the lives of the people who made their homes there.
Proceeds from Blue & BBQ support the park’s preservation and education work. Attending the benefit helps the park continue telling that story through its programs and work at the historic site.
