The Bands, Brews & BBQ event, presented by Beaufort Memorial Hospital, is a two-day celebration of food, music, and fun that takes place each February in Port Royal, South Carolina.
This exciting event is officially sanctioned by the South Carolina Barbeque Association (SCBA) and is dedicated to benefiting two local nonprofit organizations: HELP of Beaufort and the Zonta Club of Beaufort.
Friday night features the Wing Throw Down, where attendees can sample wings from participating teams while enjoying live music. Saturday is the main barbecue tasting day, with cook teams serving samples and SCBA awards announced during the event.
In addition, you’ll be able to enjoy live music throughout the day, and the SCBA will be presenting awards.
One of the awards that is gaining popularity is the “Hometown Heroes” award.
Local teams representing first responders, veterans, education, and healthcare compete for the prize. The winning team will receive cash prize, a flag, and bragging rights for the year.
Admission to the event is free, but those who wish to sample the wings on Friday night or the barbecue on Saturday can purchase tickets.
Beer and wine, water, soft drinks, and food from local vendors will also be available for purchase. The event will take place rain or shine.
Volunteer opportunities are available for those who wish to help out at the event.

The event is also an excellent opportunity to experience some of the best barbecue in the Southeast, with cook teams from across the region vying for top honors.
