Get ready for a fun-filled weekend of BBQ and wings at the FDHS Beta Butts & Wings BBQ Competition, an annual event that combines delicious food, community spirit, and charitable giving! Held at Fort Dorchester High School in North Charleston, this exciting BBQ competition benefits Camp Happy Days, a nonprofit that supports children battling cancer and their families across South Carolina.
The festivities kick off on Friday evening with the popular Wingding from 5 PM to 8 PM. Guests can feast on a wide variety of wings prepared by competing teams, each showcasing their best flavors and techniques. Starting at 5:30 PM, wings will be available for sampling, while a panel of guest judges, including local celebrities and school officials, decides the winners. This event is a great way to start the weekend with friends, family, and plenty of tasty wings!
On Saturday, the competition heats up with the main BBQ Cook-Off from 10 AM to 3 PM. Talented BBQ teams will battle it out for the top prize, cooking up mouthwatering pork butts that are sure to impress. The judging, overseen by the South Carolina Barbeque Association, ensures top-quality BBQ, and attendees will have the chance to sample the results by purchasing tickets on-site. In addition to the delicious BBQ, there will be music, vendors, and family-friendly activities, making it a great event for all ages.
