Earlier in the day, we ate at their sister restaurant, Jason’s seafood and wings. We had such an amazing experience that we thought we would come back for dinner and try their BBQ restaurant.
The service was outstanding. Our waitress, Dawn, was very friendly and accommodating with my dietary request and treated us like old friends.
The food came out hot and the ribs were cooked to perfection, collard greens and the Mac and cheese were so tasty. I got the grilled fish and it was exactly what I was hoping for.
We love a restaurant that takes pride in its food and service. Will be coming back FOR SURE.

The fam opted for Smokehouse before our trip back to Raleigh — mostly because of the promise that newly dress-blue’d Marines eat free and we just so happened to have one of those fine young folks in our crew — and frankly, it was probably our best dining choice whilst in the vicinity of Parris Island.
It’s small, unassuming joint with a varied menu full of low country favorites of BBQ and seafood. Keyword being small, as the large table for a big crew was already occupied, but our party of 10 was placed in several small tables along the wall so it was really no biggie.
Admittedly, there was a bit of a wait for our food but they did have 2 large parties descend in a short amount of time, so it’s forgivable. Plus, we were kept in sweet tea during said wait, so no complaining from me.
The food that was finally delivered to us was delicious.
I loved my crab cakes and Texas toast as did Sis and her chicken wrap, Bro with his pulled pork, and so on.
I don’t recall any complaints about the food, and believe me, in a large family with decidedly picky eaters, it’s an achievement to make us all happy.
Smokehouse is definitely worth the stop — just plan to enjoy your stay for a while if you happen to be there on Graduation Day!
