Competition BBQ for a Good Cause
Little Mountain Troop 61 brings an afternoon of competition barbecue to the Pomaria Community Center, giving the public a chance to taste the same pork being judged in a South Carolina Barbeque Association-sanctioned competition.
The fundraiser supports Little Mountain Troop 61, helping cover camping trips, leadership development, community service projects, and other Scouting activities.
The event is sponsored by the Little Mountain Ruritan Club and runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Taste the Competition Barbecue
If you want to sample the cook teams' barbecue, you can buy 10 two-ounce samples for $20. That's enough to try several teams and compare what the judges are tasting.
If you'd rather take some barbecue home, quarts are $30.
Because this is competition barbecue, availability may depend on how much the teams have left to serve. If tasting is your main reason for going, arriving earlier in the event is the safer bet.
BBQ, Cars, and Community
One of the event's 2026 promotional flyers also advertises a car show, adding classic cars to the afternoon alongside the barbecue competition.
Whether you come for the barbecue, the cars, or both, the money spent at the event goes toward supporting the Scouts of Troop 61.
