Not much information is available about Rick Fowler’s Hogback Mountain BBQ.

Open Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, or whenever I take a hankering to. In that case, the sign says “Open.” Catering available 24 / 7, with beef brisket, chopped pork, chicken, baby back ribs, side items and dessert. Sauce sales (Mustard Vinegar, Mild Red, Jalapeno Red) available online at www.hogback.com, and a list of retail stores that carry our products! 30+ years in business.****

When open, Hogback Mountain BBQ offers pork and beef barbecue, baby back ribs, and side items are available. They also serve all-beef hot dogs made with scratch-made chili.

Hogback Mountain sauces include their Mild Red, Mustard Vinegar and Jalapeno Red.

Diners may eat-in or take out. In addition, Hogback Mountain offers catering for all occasions.

That said, we have seen reports on Yelp claiming Hogback “closed for years”; however, Google Local Guide Rick Jenkins wrote in his review “one month ago” that their BBQ is “the best pulled pork in the upstate.” So, we’re getting mixed messages.

We reached out to our contact in the area. He rode by to find the place closed but checked in with the local authorities.

Per the Inman Town Hall, Hogback Mountain BBQ “only does catering for churches and special events, etc. Also things like Memorial Day, 4th July, Labor day weekend and such.”

So, if it is a holiday, you may find them open, but likely this place is only doing catering now.
