Wow!! My first time here today and I’m blown away how delicious everything is!
I had the Train Wreck so I had some (a lot actually) brisket , pulled pork and chicken, collard greens are so delish, corn bread that I just had to have more of too for all my left overs that I’ll eat for lunch tomorrow. Huge portion of meats!
Real sweet tea made with real surgar and Love! Family run and so cozy inside, very freindly and didn’t mind my excess of talking to them and other patrons .

We visit the Hilton Head area quite often. This visit, during COVID, has certainly been a different and challenging experience in many ways, especially when it comes to finding good food under safe conditions.
We decided to take advantage of this opportunity to avoid all the usual touristy spots on the island, and venture off-island to find places we’ve not tried before. That’s how we got to Choo Choo, and WOW are we glad we did.
We ordered the ribs and pulled pork, and they were both OUTSTANDING! The sauces were perfect (love that they’re served on the side) and all of the sides were delicious (we had fries, baked beans, coleslaw, mac & cheese, and cornbread).
The place is certainly nothing fancy (which is good because fancy and BBQ aren’t usually a great combination). But it’s simple, authentic, and really, really good.
To the owners: Thank you for your service to our country, thank you for respecting your customers by taking COVID precautions seriously, and thank you for a delicious dinner!
My husband takes his BBQ very seriously – we try it everywhere we go – and he said Choo Choo was among the very best he’s ever had!! That’s a huge statement coming from him – we WILL be back!
