Local Cue: Sports Bar or Separate Family Restaurant

Greenville’s Local Cue offers something for everyone. In fact, it is really two different entities. They are known, of course, as a sports bar for those over 21, but they also offer a separate family restaurant for all to enjoy.

Local Cue’s family restaurant serves folks of all ages. Like the bar, the family restaurant also provides those fun activities the sports bar is built upon: Jenga, Darts, and many classic board games to go with their amazing barbecue. But unlike the sports bar, there is no ID required for entry—a great place to safely enjoy a family dinner.

On the other side, you’ll discover that Local Cue is not just your average sports bar! Enjoy delicious house-smoked barbecue while you play pool, foosball, shuffleboard, retro arcade games, cornhole, ping pong, giant Jenga, or any one of their over 250 board games! Local Cue stands out as the ultimate playground for adults. Here, of course, guests must be 21 or older and carry a valid ID at all times.

On the menu, you will find pulled pork, smoked chicken, smoked brisket, and an assortment of other options. Among other things, Local Cue’s sides include bourbon baked beans, slaw, collards, and mac & cheese.

They offer the following traditional sauces at Local Cue, and a few others:

  • Memphis Red: Our “traditional” red – sweet & smokey
  • Alabama White: A mayo-based sauce with horseradish, cayenne pepper and apple cider vinegar
  • NC BBQ: Vinegar-based sauce made with apple cider vinegar, orange and cranberry juices, crushed red pepper, and brown sugar
  • Carolina Gold: Yellow mustard-based BBQ sauce with cracked black pepper, honey, and brown sugar

What Folks are Saying

Google Review

Among the many Google Reviews, Local Guide Brian is a veteran of Local Cue, having visited for years. There is a reason he keeps going back:

They are so much worth every 5-star possible.

I’ve known the owners and all the great wait staff for literally many many years…all are top-notch. If you need a great time to weather the chill time personally or with a group, you need to visit if you haven’t already. And the food…oh my goodness, the food is just so delicious.

I just ate with my buddy, and I had a brisket sandwich! You haven’t experienced good quality food preparation until you’ve tasted something from Local. If you’ve never gone it’s completely your fault. Maybe you need to get out and go to a high-end place literally like Local CueI’m just lucky. I think my first time there was in 2012 but maybe it was 11 I can’t remember 🙂

Yelp Review

Over on Yelp,  Tara B found the best smoked wings and brisket at Local Cue:

Awesome to say the least. I was looking for smoked wings and beef brisket and man it did not disappoint. It took about 10 minutes for the food to come out. Service was spot on by the waiter who had to serve about 6 tables all at once. The manager was personable and made sure we enjoyed ourselves.

My husband thinks this is the best beef brisket sandwich he has ever had! The smoked wings (10 pieces) come with 3 sauces of choice and the collared greens tasted fantastic. This is Greenville’s best BBQ joint!
