Southbound Smokehouse is Located in Green Jacket Stadium
One of North Augusta’s newest restaurants opened in SRP Park in Riverside Village. Southbound Smokehouse is located “where classic southern barbecue meets friendly neighborhood cantina.”
Since word has gotten out, the response has been incredible, said Brian Brittingham, one of the owners of Southbound.
The North Augusta location is the second of two Southbound Smokehouse restaurants – there is also one on Central Avenue in Augusta.
“It’s just a place that’s very diverse, can bring people from anywhere, all walks of life, together under one roof to enjoy some time on the riverfront,” Brittingham said.
Southbound Smokehouse serves a full menu in North Augusta. Barbecue, fried chicken, tacos, quesadillas, and much more dot the menu.
In a nod to SC BBQ tradition, you will find hash and rice on the menu as well.
At present, the hours are Wednesday through Sunday. Southbound will open at 4:20 p.m. on those days, but there is no set closing time.

Brittingham said there may be live music “from time to time,” and that there may be specials, like steak or scallops, that lend themselves to being right on the riverfront.
Southbound Smokehouse joins the Augusta GreenJackets, Crowne Plaza Hotel, Ironwood Apartments, and the Clubhouse apartments as tenants of Riverside Village. Planned businesses in Riverside Village include Swank Company boutique, Rio Cantina taqueria, and Rivers and Glen outfitter.

Absolutely awesome!
The area it’s located in is phenomenal and the aesthetics of the place is great. Awesome food, great prices, staff is very friendly.
I usually go with the pork or chicken BBQ plate. The wings are good as well and their signature Greenjacket beer is 10/10.
If you’re a local or just traveling by, I suggest you stop in for a visit.

This place was super cool and will be even better on a game day. It has a great view of the stadium as it is located in Green Jacket Stadium!
The loaded potato skins were the perfect appetizer to start with. Very filling, very delicious and a fun BBQ spin on a classic!
My main course was The Firebird – the chicken was fried perfectly and their famous sauce was really delicious! I ended up eating a lot of the chicken not in the bun, as it was very messy with all the sauces!
Very very good! Would love to return during a game!
