Excellent!
Our 1st time here and very impressed! The owner and staff were friendly while they answered my many questions about the pork and chicken and ingredients. This owner uses real sugar and brown sugar; not high fructose corn syrup. He doesn’t inject the meats with “stuff”; just good ole ” smoking” done right.
We had lean pulled pork and pulled chicken with their wonderful sauce on the side. Their hush puppies were great! I’m usually not a hush puppy fan because most places don’t make good ones; however, they are an exception!
We had this “to go” as we had a long drive ahead. They are conveniently located off I 85 and we pass this way several times a year. We will definitely be back!

This is one of the few roadside stops I’d travel back to. I was on a trip to North Carolina and I saw a billboard for this BBQ right next to the QT. It is nice to have a drive-thru and indoor/outdoor seating options.
Their menu was huge as seen in other Yelp review photos and the food came out very fast. The servers gave good recommendations on the sides (highly recommend the baked beans!!) I got the large BBQ plate and split it between myself and someone else.
The 8 oz of meat, two plentiful sides, and 3 hushpuppies were more than enough to satisfy our hunger for lunch.
If you love mayo, you’ll love the coleslaw. If you love Granddaddy’s BBQ sauce (which was very sweet and awesome with my chicken), you’ll love the BBQ coleslaw which replaces mayo with the sauce.
I can’t wait to stop on future trips and try everything Granddaddy has to offer. The spinning pig on the sign is a bonus!!
