Among the many Google Reviews, Finely Jones left her first visit to Baker's with plans to return:
I mean it when I say this is the best barbecue I have ever had. I’m born and raised in the low country and have never been more impressed with the customer service, the ambiance, and most importantly the food.
My boyfriend and I got the brisket plate, the pulled pork sandwich, and for sides we got coleslaw (I have never had better slaw before sorry mom) red beans and rice, baked beans (highly recommend and I don’t eat beans) potato salad with a perfect amount of dill, and a side of the tomato pie. Every single bite was perfect and I can’t remember the last time I had that kind of first time experience.
We’re already making plans for our next visit, if you’re looking for amazing barbecue in the low country you’ve found it!

Over on Yelp, Summerville native Edith T knows what home-cookin' is all about:
Ok, it's a restaurant/greenhouse nursery/general store. Maybe it's "different" for some, but let me just say if you want to know what it's like to go eat at grandma's house in the south then just come by Baker's have them fix you a plate.
Go early though or they may be out of the BBQ or the brisket. Good home-cooked southern cooking in a darling location with antiques, plants, and a huge koi fountain pond! We sat right by the pond and watched the fish.
Do not wear your Sunday best. Just your dungarees and flip flops will do. P.S. Get the Mac n cheese
